Quebec provincial police seized more than $6 million in assets during a coordinated operation targeting the illegal sale of substances used to cut cocaine, marking one of the largest drug-materials busts in the province.

The Sûreté du Québec's criminal asset recovery bureau carried out searches on June 18 at businesses in Boucherville, Longueuil, Montreal, Granby, and Chambly, plus a residence in Brossard. Officers seized over 730 kilograms of lidocaine, roughly 200 grams of cannabis, and more than $215,000 in cash. They also recovered precious metals worth nearly $450,000, luxury jewelry and watches valued at about $200,000, 56 industrial presses, and a luxury vehicle.

Investigators froze eight properties with an estimated combined value exceeding $6 million, which police allege are offence-related property or proceeds of crime. More than 65 officers from the SQ and several municipal police services participated, alongside Revenu Québec and FINTRAC, Canada's financial intelligence agency.

No arrests have been made, but police say those targeted could face charges related to drug production, possession of proceeds of crime, and money laundering.
