Two people were killed and at least five others injured during a mass shooting at Toronto's Salsa on St. Clair street festival Saturday evening.
Toronto police issued a warning about an active shooter near St. Clair and Arlington Avenues at 8:20 p.m. A total of seven people were found with gunshot wounds; two were pronounced dead at the scene.
Footage obtained by reporters showed paramedics performing life-saving measures on at least one victim within a large crowd of spectators. Authorities secured the scene shortly after 9 p.m. and cordoned off several blocks of St. Clair Avenue.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots followed by screams from crowds who ran for cover. Police have not announced any arrests or disclosed how many suspects they are searching for. A large police presence remained in the area as officers continued their investigation.
