Two brothers convicted of stabbing Sud-Ouest man to death
Jury finds Chad and Jayden Pinel guilty of second-degree murder in 2024 altercation
A Montreal jury has found brothers Chad and Jayden Pinel guilty of second-degree murder in the 2024 stabbing death of 27-year-old Conor Patrick O'Loughlin in the Sud-Ouest borough. After lengthy deliberations Friday, the jury unanimously returned guilty verdicts on the sole charge against both men. Prosecutors alleged that Chad stabbed O'Loughlin in the heart during a brief hallway altercation at an apartment building. Both brothers testified during the trial but the jury ultimately rejected their account of events. Sentencing is expected to follow in coming weeks.
