17-year-old presumed drowned after boat capsizes on Stony Lake

A 17-year-old from Prince George is presumed drowned after a boat capsized on Stony Lake in the Cariboo region, about 90 kilometres southeast of Prince George. Three of the four people on board made it safely to shore, but the boat's operator did not resurface.
The incident occurred Saturday. An extensive search was conducted but the youth remains missing. His family has been notified.
Staff Sergeant Kris Clark of the B.C. RCMP said: "Our efforts to locate the boy are ongoing with our underwater recovery team anticipated to arrive (Tuesday). Our thoughts are with the family, friends and loved ones as they cope with this tragic loss."
Stony Lake is accessible only by forest service roads and back roads but is popular with people from Prince George for fishing and camping.
