A young Ukrainian couple who had dreamed of starting a family together was killed in a Russian airstrike on Kyiv.
Maryna Homeniuk and Yurii Orlov were a Kyiv success story. She'd fled Ukraine during the invasion, earned a degree in the Czech Republic, added Vietnamese to her linguistic arsenal, and returned home. He captained the Kyiv Floorball Club. Together, they had plans to build a life—to start a family. But a fierce Russian airstrike took both of them. Their deaths are one story among thousands, but Homeniuk and Orlov's friends and family are making sure they're remembered not as statistics, but as people with futures that were stolen.
