Monday's got circus, noodles, and 15 hours of daylight to burn.

It's 14 degrees this morning—jacket weather if you're heading out early, but you'll shed it by afternoon. The UV index is sitting at 7, which is high, so if you're spending time outside today (and with sunset not until 8:55 PM, you might well be), sunscreen isn't optional. You've got a solid 15 hours and 40 minutes of daylight to work with, which is genuinely rare and worth noticing.

Commute should be straightforward—no major disruptions flagged for the LRT or the usual routes into town. Standard Monday morning traffic patterns apply.

A couple of things worth knowing: Stittsville's Multicultural Festival is marking its fifth year, and one of the community's students just landed a $120,000 Schulich Scholarship, which is the kind of win that doesn't come around every day. Elsewhere in the city, there's an ongoing story about an Afghan war veteran pushing back against the DND over a privacy breach, and police are looking for a suspect in a hate-motivated assault in Woodridge. If you're in that area or know people who are, it's worth staying aware.

For lunch or dinner, if you're craving something good, Le Mien Craft Noodle in the ByWard Market is doing hand-pulled bowls—solid choice on a day like this. If waterfront dining's more your speed, Château Laurier's brought in Émilie's Terrace for summer eating. And if you want something lighter, Cactus Club's running a $9 smash burger and Frosé special—both sing in warm weather. There's also a solid piece out about Ottawa's best beer patios if you're thinking ahead to the evening or this weekend.

Tonight's got a couple of options if you're looking to get out. The AC RPN Pinning Ceremony runs at Algonquin Commons Theatre at 7:00 PM if you've got someone in the health care program worth celebrating. If thrills are more your thing, Paranormal Cirque Nightmare is at St Laurent Shopping Centre starting at 7:30 PM—circus acts with a darker edge, indoors, which works fine with the weather. Otherwise, it's a quiet Monday evening. Stream something, grab food, call it a night early if that's where your head's at.

Sunset's at 8:55 if you're planning to be outside. Bonjour, and have a good one out there.
