Sunday at Bluesfest—sunny, cool, and live music all evening
It's festival weather today. Grab the good coat, catch some live music, and stay out til sunset.
Morning's on the cool side—14°C—so layer up if you're heading out early. But the sun's coming through and the UV's running high at 7, so you'll want the sunscreen once you're moving around. You've got until 8:45 PM to work with, so there's real time in the day.
Bluesfest is rolling through LeBreton again tonight. If you caught Thursday's show when Ella Langley drew something like 40,000 people, you know the vibe. There's a Sunday pass if you want to make an evening of it—music starts at 5 PM. Or if hip-hop's your lane, Souls of Mischief are playing Rum Runners at 8, with a few other names on the card earlier in the night.
If the Redblacks game is more your speed, the Titans are taking on the Down East Bird Dawgs at Ottawa Stadium at 3:30 this afternoon—that's early enough to catch it before or after other plans.
For eating, you've got options. If you're thinking brunch before the day gets rolling, there are solid spots across the city worth the visit. Sanguiccio in Little Italy makes everything from scratch if you want to settle in for a longer meal—bring patience, but it's worth it. Or if you're more grab-and-go, Little Victories just debuted their coffee stand at Bluesfest with espresso martinis and nitro brews, which feels like a festival move. For dinner, check out one of the restaurant patios around town if you want to sit outside and soak the evening light before it goes. Shawarma's always a weekend move, too, if that's calling.
It's noticeably cooler than the last few days, so that good coat I mentioned—don't leave it behind. But the sun's real and the day's long. Get outside.
