Sunday's mild — take it outside, or hit the Market.

Morning, it's a proper Sunday out there. Twenty degrees, mostly cloudy, with a UV index at 7—that's high, so sunscreen if you're spending hours outside. You've got until 8:20 PM before the light goes, so plan accordingly if you're thinking an evening walk or patio time.

Worth knowing: the ByWard Market's had some vendor drama this week after folks posted renovation protest posters—breach notices went out. The Market's still worth a visit if you're after brunch or just wandering, but it's worth knowing the temperature in there right now.

If you're thinking food, Little Italy's staying on its culinary roll with 16 solid restaurants across the strip, and Somerset Street keeps getting deeper—Kozhi just opened in Chinatown if you're after something new. Arlo on Somerset made it into an exclusive 50 Best Discovery guide, which is genuinely rare for Ottawa, so that's worth the trip if you've got a reservation. Lansdowne Farmers' Market is also open and worth a browse if you're the type—there's more than just overpriced organic eggs out there, promise.

On the sadder side: Orléans lost a brewery this week after a decade in business. Rising costs and pressure finally caught up. It's a reminder that the hospitality squeeze is real around here.

If you're looking at the evening, there's live alt-rock somewhere in the city if that's your thing, and the weather's fine for either indoors or out. The Titans are home at Ottawa Stadium at 3:30 PM against Trois-Rivières if you're into soccer.

One more heads-up: starting tomorrow, wild parsnip treatment kicks off across 185 Ottawa parks for a week. Those plants can cause nasty burns on skin if you brush against them, so if you're hiking or wandering green space, keep an eye out before Tuesday rolls around.

Also good news on the animal front—the Ottawa Humane Society is accepting pets displaced by the Northwestern Ontario wildfires. If you know anyone who's been affected, that's a resource.

Get outside if you can. It's a good day for it.
