Thursday chill and fog — get inside tonight

It's noticeably colder today — we're down to 13°C this morning, a real dip from what you've been used to. There's a fog advisory in effect, so visibility's going to be patchy, especially if you're commuting early. It'll burn off as the day builds, but plan for slower going on the roads. The UV's sitting at 6, which is high, so if you do get into clear stretches, sunscreen still counts. You've got good daylight though — sunset's not until 8:14 PM, so the evening's yours if you want it.

Commute-wise, nothing major flagged this morning beyond the fog slowing things down. Give yourself a bit of extra time if you're heading across the city.

On the local front: the Glebe's been busy getting accessibility sorted ahead of the wheelchair basketball world championships rolling in next month. Good to see that work happening now. Also worth knowing — there's been a pair of Facebook Marketplace robberies in Barrhaven over the last three days, both armed. Police are looking for witnesses, so if you're doing any meetups for sales or pickups, stick to public spots and bring someone along.

If you're thinking food, Little Italy's still firing on all cylinders — 16 solid restaurants and the whole street's got real momentum. Westboro's Little Bones has been drawing crowds with upscale tacos and tequila cocktails if that's your lane. Over on Somerset, Arlo just made it into an exclusive 50 Best Discovery guide (the first Ottawa restaurant to do it), and Kozhi opened up in Chinatown recently too. The street's becoming a real destination.

Tonight's where it gets good. You've got three live music options despite the fog — The Soap Girls are at Club Andromeda in Pearl River at 6 PM, Test is playing The Bronson at 7, and if you want the marquee move, Bonnie Raitt's at the NAC at 7:30 with Maia Sharp as special guest. That's the one. Live blues beats sitting in the mist, and you'll be indoors and warm. Sunset's early enough that you won't be waiting around in the fog after.

Stay warm out there. See you tonight or tomorrow.
