Monday eases back in — pick your vibe tonight.

Morning. It's Monday and you're back at it — 13 degrees, partly cloudy, nothing dramatic. You'll want a light layer if you're heading out early; the sun doesn't drop until 7:55 tonight, so you've got decent daylight to work with. UV's at 4, so nothing to sweat there.

Nothing major on the commute this morning, so you should be fine getting in the usual way.

Couple things worth knowing: Queensway Carleton's in rough shape right now — they've cut 101 positions and emergency waits are stretching to 17 hours. If you or anyone you know's been putting off a trip to the ER, heads up. On a lighter note, The Royal's now covering rTMS treatment for depression through OHIP, which is solid news if you know anyone dealing with that.

The municipal election's ramping up too. 181 candidates got certified last week for October, and 10 of them ran unopposed so they're already in. Former councillor Mathieu Fleury's back in the game as a trustee candidate if you were wondering what he's up to.

Food-wise, there's some movement. Chef Teegavarapu Sarath Mohan just opened Kozhi on Somerset West — fine-dining fried chicken, which is a lane unto itself. If you're in Westboro, Little Bones keeps pulling crowds with upscale tacos and tequila cocktails. Fair warning though: Brassica, the Westboro spot everyone loved for banoffee pie, is closing after less than three years — worth a final visit if that's your thing. And if you're looking for places that handle both the adventurous eaters *and* the "I just want good food, no surprises" crowd at the same table, that's still the eternal Ottawa dinner-party puzzle.

Tonight you've got two hard pulls in opposite directions. WWE Monday Night RAW is at the Canadian Tire Centre starting at 5:30 — if you're into wrestling, it's all there. If live alt-rock's more your speed, Meltt's playing The 27 Club at 7:30. Both are indoors, so the weather's not a factor. Pick your Monday mood and roll with it.

Good week ahead. Stay sorted.
