Bruyère Health's facing pushback on 55 job cuts—1,400 people signed a petition this week asking the organization to reverse the decision. Separately, more than 860 teaching professors at uOttawa just voted to authorize a strike, so keep an eye on that one as fall classes settle in. The municipal election's coming up on October 26 too—14 mayoral candidates are in the race, and advance voting kicks off on October 1 if you want to get ahead of it.

Over on Somerset West, Chef Teegavarapu Sarath Mohan's opened Kozhi, a fine-dining take on fried chicken that's drawing attention.
