Sunday's sharp and clear—get outside before the chill sets in.
Cold snap moving in, but the sky's yours until sunset. Evening's got music and circus vibes if you're staying in.
Frost warning's out there—we've dropped from the milder stretch into proper autumn. Three degrees this morning, mainly clear skies, and you've got decent light until 6:38 PM, so if you're thinking a walk or something outside, go early. UV's at 4, so you're not getting burned, but the chill is real.
One heads-up on the O-Train: the east extension's now pushed to November. Software issues came up, so expect that delay if you were counting on it. The SkyTrain's also running overnight tests for its new driverless system over the next five months—shouldn't hit your Sunday, but worth knowing for commute planning down the road.
Couple of things worth your attention. The Senators opened their season Friday and took down the Leafs 3–2, though Sanderson went down with an injury—keep an eye on that one. On the brighter side, Perley Health just opened a new daycare with 39 kids, and it's already reshaping life for 600 seniors there. Real community thing.
If you're eating out, there's some movement on the food scene. Nutty Greek Bake Shop on Preston Street is closing after 15 years—grab a visit if you've got a soft spot for it. On the flip side, Ruby's just opened in the ByWard Market with elegant small plates and a serious wine list if that's your lane. Yannick La Salle, one of our own, also just advanced to the 2027 Canadian Culinary Championship, so that's worth following.
Evening's got real options. If you're after something immersive, Cirque du Soleil's Luzia is running shows at St Laurent Shopping Centre—matinee at 1 PM or evening at 4:30 if you want to catch it today. Music's popping too: Ricky Kej's celebrating Gandhi through music at The Bronson at 5:30, Paeezgan's at Algonquin Commons at 6:30, and Sawyer Hill's playing Club Saw at 7. Pick your vibe and roll with it.
Stay warm out there, and enjoy the clear skies while they last.
