Saturday's cold and clear—plenty to do tonight
Bundle up for a crisp day. Music, comedy, and hockey all firing at once after dark.
It's -1°C out there, feels a bit colder, so layer up if you're heading anywhere. Clear skies though, and the sun won't dip until just after 6, so you've got a solid 10-and-a-half hours of daylight to work with. UV's moderate at 3.0—nothing to worry about, but sunglasses won't hurt if you're out for a while.
A heads-up on something heavier: Ottawa Police have temporarily suspended Crime Stoppers after a data breach affected 1.5 million tips. If you've called in before, know that they're working through it. There's also a public alert out for two missing Ottawa-area teenagers, so if you see anything, get in touch with police right away.
If you're hungry today, Centretown's got a new spot worth trying: Zen Bowl just opened with Shanghai soup dumplings and pan-fried buns—exactly what you want on a cold Saturday. Worth the trip if you're in the mood for something different.
Tonight's where it gets interesting. You've got options stacked on top of each other. If comedy's your thing, Mike Epps is at the Hard Rock—always a good Saturday night move. The live music crowd has Marianas Trench over at History Ottawa at 7, which could be fun depending on what you're into. And if you're feeling the wrestling vibe, there's the Bytown Brawl II happening at the Arena at TD Place—The Tradition Continues, so folks know what they're getting.
Hockey's also on: the Rangers are in town to play the Sens, so if you want to catch the squad at home, that's the marquee event. Saturday night at the rink always has energy.
Earlier in the day, if you're into volleyball, Algonquin's Wolves are taking on Fleming Phoenix at Jack Doyle Athletics at 1 p.m., and there's a quarter-final game at Sports Field at 6 p.m. if you want to get out and watch.
Pick your vibe—there's something for everyone tonight. Just grab a coat and get out there.
