Rebel Rabbit Theatre Co.'s Schrödinger's Lottery Ticket is a dramedy made for anyone who's ever believed they had a winning lottery ticket, only to be disappointed.

The play unfolds in a park during a solar eclipse over one evening. Two friends, Andy and Sarah, meet to watch the eclipse. Andy claims to have discovered a sure-fire way to win the lottery—but the entire show hinges on whether he actually has a winning ticket. There is very little plot; the piece is built on banter and the philosophical tension between the two characters.

Andy and Sarah are deeply relatable: both are desperate for their lives to change and willing to do anything for a chance at financial freedom. The play explores themes of affordability, sacrifice, and sharing, which feel urgent in our current cost-of-living crisis. Occasionally the script pushes suspension of disbelief—Andy's manchild character is so convincingly portrayed as a down-and-out loser that the actor almost oversells it. But the dark turn in the third act and the twist ending completely catch the audience off guard.

The reviewer found the show funny and entertaining overall. If you're looking for something fun that's not too serious, Schrödinger's Lottery Ticket lands.
