Five new restaurants bring fresh dining to Ottawa this summer, from Ruby's to Junior & The Kid BBQ

Ruby's opened late last month at 10 York Street in the historic Clarendon Courtyard, occupying the former location of Oz Kafe. The restaurant is a sibling to The Belmont on Bank Street in Old Ottawa South and features a mix of Canadian and European fare with snacks, small plates, entrees, and desserts made with Canadian ingredients.

Coqueto, located at 12 Lebreton Street North in Chinatown, opened in early June as an independent project built by friends inspired by their love for great Mexican snacks and good company. The menu includes sweet and savoury items such as shaved ice, rice pudding, horchata, agua fresca, a loaded corn bowl, and Mexican street-style corn on the cob.

Junior & The Kid BBQ has relocated from Rockland to 117 Beechwood Avenue, serving up the same barbecue fare it has offered since 2018—brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and mac-and-cheese. Owner Chris "The Kid" Villeneuve's love for cooking was inspired by his grandfather, known as "Junior." The new location also joined the concession offerings at Ottawa Stadium at the start of the Ottawa Titans's 2025 season.

All Out Burger is opening at 2525 Bank Street in the former location of The Works and will be closing its food truck location at 2560 Bank Street later this month. The restaurant began with one simple goal: to serve fresh, high-quality burgers and smash burgers made with premium ingredients.
