The National Arts Centre is hosting a free noon-hour recital in the O'Brien Atrium on Tuesday, July 14, featuring flutist Stephanie Morin and pianist Sylvia Bruns performing music inspired by turn-of-the-century Paris.
The mother-daughter duo will play works by Claude Debussy, Lili Boulanger, Georges Hüe, and Camille Saint-Saëns — a program capturing the moment when the flute emerged as a virtuosic and expressive solo instrument in the French capital at the dawn of the 20th century.
The performance runs approximately 45 minutes with no intermission. Attendees can bring their own meal and find a spot in the atrium for what the NAC calls "a warm and refreshing midday escape — perfect for a moment of musical pause in the heart of your day."
No tickets are required. The concert is part of the Atrium Series and The Feeling of Free, the NAC's summer programming.
