Ukrainian-born, Berlin-based singer and composer GANNA (Ganna Gryniva) brings her acclaimed album UTOPIA to the NAC's Fourth Stage on Thursday, June 11, at 8 p.m., with support from fellow Ukrainian artist DIVKA.

GANNA's sound is a sophisticated collision of tradition and technology: Ukrainian folk traditions, jazz-tinged arrangements, electronic soundscapes, and live looping weave together to create what she describes as "improvised electro-folk." Her album UTOPIA pairs ancestral melodies and ritual songs—many sourced from field recordings in Ukrainian villages—with modern production, exploring themes of resilience, matriarchy, and belonging. She's performed at major European festivals including Jazzahead, WOMEX, and Reeperbahn, and toured Australia at Sydney Festival and WOMAdelaide.

DIVKA, her opening act, operates in a complementary sonic register: bandura (an esoteric Ukrainian harp), viola, and ethereal vocals weave together with guttural ancient invocations. Her debut album folk fatale dropped in April and carries a charged blend of mythology, traditional village singing, and what the artist describes as "femme power, mystic whimsy, and a dash of vengeance." The live show promises electrifying harmonies, raw village vocal traditions, and a stage presence that's both intimate and commanding.

Tickets are $20 (NAC subscribers get 15% off). Under-30s can attend for $15. This is the kind of evening that lingers—music rooted in a specific place and history, rendered through a completely contemporary lens. The Fourth Stage is intimate enough to feel the weight of every note.
