Wintersleep is bringing their first headlining show to Ottawa since 2019 on Saturday, June 20 at the Bronson Centre.

The Juno-winning Halifax band—formed in 2001 by Paul Murphy, Loel Campbell, and Tim d'Eon—added Jon Samuel in 2006 and Mike Bigelow in 2007. Over 25 years, they've maintained remarkable continuity while letting members pursue side projects, from Murphy's Postdata to Bigelow and Campbell's work with Holy Fuck.

Their breakthrough single "Weighty Ghost" hit charts in 2007. They achieved their first number-one hit with "Amerika" in 2016. Their latest album, Wishing Moon, released in March after a six-year gap, was produced by Nicolas Vernhes and deliberately pushes the band's sound in new directions while remaining distinctly Wintersleep.

The pandemic interrupted their initial post-tour writing session, but the band continued exchanging demos across distance before reuniting in person to flesh out songs. D'Eon notes they had roughly a decade-old riff for the heavier track "Wait for the Tide" that finally found its place on the new record.

Tickets and showtime details are available through the Bronson Centre.
