One of four people isolated in Victoria after ship outbreak confirms Andes strain
One of four people quarantined in Victoria after a cruise ship hantavirus outbreak has tested positive for the Andes strain of the virus. The individuals arrived at Victoria International Airport on May 10 and were placed under a 21-day isolation order. Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry confirmed the positive result among the group, which includes two people from the Yukon, one from Vancouver Island, and one from British Columbia.
