Four victims in critical condition; 31-year-old driver detained and questioned by police

A car plowed into pedestrians in the northern Italian city of Modena on Saturday, injuring eight people with four in critical condition. Mayor Massimo Mezzetti said no one was killed, but victims included a woman who was pinned against a shop window and required amputation of both legs. The driver, a 31-year-old man born in Bergamo and raised in Modena, was detained and questioned by authorities as they investigated whether he was under the influence or acted intentionally.
