Eligible Ontario residents will receive Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB) payments on Friday, October 9, as part of the 2026–27 benefit year (July 2026 to June 2027).
The combined benefit—which includes the Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit, the Northern Ontario Energy Credit, and the Ontario Sales Tax Credit—has been increased by 2 per cent this year, down from a 2.7 per cent indexation last year.
For residents ages 18–64, the Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit now reaches up to $1,307. Those 65 and older can receive up to $1,488. Residents of reserves or public long-term care homes are eligible for up to $290.
The Ontario Sales Tax Credit now provides up to $378 annually, plus an additional $378 for a spouse or common-law partner and $378 for each dependent child under 19. That credit does not affect federal GST/HST payments.
Northern Ontario residents eligible for the Northern Ontario Energy Credit can receive a maximum of $189 if single, or $290 for families.
If you don't receive your payment within 10 working days of October 9, contact the Canada Revenue Agency. Two additional OTB payments are scheduled for November 10 and December 10, 2026.
