Voters in Ottawa's municipal election have until Oct. 16 to cast ballots in advance or return completed Special Ballot Voter Kits by mail, the city announced Friday.
Advance voting runs through Oct. 16, which is also the final deadline for returning mailed ballots. The election itself is scheduled for Oct. 26, with mayoral candidates on the ballot. Advance voting opened Oct. 1 and has proceeded smoothly at City Hall and other poll locations since then.
Special Ballot Voter Kits allow residents who cannot vote in person to request a mail-in ballot. These kits must be returned to the city by the Oct. 16 deadline to be counted.
