At about 4:45 p.m., a paramedic service response unit was in the Rideau and Cumberland Street area when the driver noticed the injured woman. An ambulance transported her to hospital. Initial reports listed her as critical but stable, though the Ottawa Police Service later said her injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
Ottawa police responded to the intersection of Cumberland and Daly at about 4:30 p.m. and blocked off the area. The investigation is ongoing. This was the second serious assault in the area in less than 24 hours. On Monday at 10:42 p.m., an adult male was stabbed following an attempted robbery at Dalhousie Street and George Street.
