The U.S. Justice Department is preparing to seek an indictment against former Cuban President Raúl Castro as the Trump administration increases pressure on the communist-run island. According to three sources familiar with the matter, the potential indictment is connected to Castro's alleged role as defense minister in the 1996 shootdown of four planes operated by Brothers to the Rescue, a Miami-based exile group. The move comes as President Donald Trump has threatened possible military action against Cuba.
