Luc's European Meats, a Calgary Farmers Market favourite for charcuterie and imported specialties, is opening its first retail storefront at Southcentre mall.
The soft opening runs Friday, October 16. The grand opening weekend spans Friday, October 23, at 5 p.m. through Sunday, October 25, with location-exclusive promotions.
The new shop is located at Unit 36, 100 Anderson Road SE. It will carry local and imported cheeses, house-crafted charcuterie, fine foods, cheese knives and ceramic plating — available seven days a week.
Unlike the farmers market location, which requires 24-hour advance notice for custom orders, the Southcentre shop will offer on-demand charcuterie boards, grazing boxes and gourmet canapés during regular mall hours.
The grand opening centrepiece is a 70-kilogram wheel of Emmental de Savoie PGI, a protected-designation cheese from the French Alps. The wheel will be ceremonially sliced, sampled and sold on-site throughout the opening weekend.
