Brookfield Residential, a Calgary-based homebuilder, is constructing new homes with a focus on health and long-term comfort, featuring upgrades across four main categories: air, water, safety, and environment.
In air quality, homes include a heat recovery ventilator for continuous fresh air and balanced temperature, plus an ultraviolet light system that eliminates bacteria, mold, and viruses. Carbon filters capture odours, gases, and volatile organic compounds that standard furnace filters cannot remove.
For water, every kitchen sink features a three-stage reverse osmosis system that removes more than 90 per cent of dissolved solids, including PFAS ("forever chemicals"), heavy metals like lead and arsenic, sodium, nitrates, chlorine, microplastics, and bacteria.
Safety features include carbon monoxide and smoke alarms, a passive radon stack that vents radon gas out of the home to reduce levels by up to 90 per cent, a front door camera and smart deadbolt, fire-resistant walls and exteriors, and leak detection with automatic shutoff.
All homes are built in adherence to BUILTGREEN standards, which the company says delivers lasting quality, efficiency, and comfort. This also results in lower utility costs and more consistent comfort throughout the year. Brookfield Residential has homes available in communities across the province.
