The Calgary Stampede is tracking toward matching last year's attendance numbers heading into its final day, July 13, buoyed by excellent weather and high-stakes rodeo competitions.

On July 12, the grounds drew 153,724 people, bringing overall attendance to 1,289,395. The Stampede needs about 190,000 more visitors across Sunday's events to match 2025's numbers.

Sunday features significant paydays in the infield and on the track, with cowboys, cowgirls, and chuckwagon drivers competing for top prizes of $50,000 in their respective disciplines. Rodeo highlights include saddle bronc and barrel racing, while the Rangeland Derby chuckwagon final will determine this year's champion.

In the Rangeland Derby, Jamie Laboucane held the lead going into Sunday, followed by defending champion Chanse Vigen and Jason Glass in third place. During Saturday's heat 3, a horse was injured and transported to a veterinary hospital, where it is recovering — the only serious animal injury at this year's event.

Music continues through the evening: Parmalee at Nashville North (9:15 p.m.), The Beaches on the Coca-Cola Stage (8:30 p.m.), and Glass Tiger closes the festival at the Big Four Roadhouse (8:30 p.m.).
