Canadian on cruise ship tests presumptive positive for hantavirus
Person from Yukon develops mild symptoms after ship outbreak
One of four Canadians isolating in British Columbia following a cruise ship hantavirus outbreak has tested "presumptive positive" for the virus, provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced Saturday. The person, from the Yukon, developed mild symptoms including fever and headache on Thursday. Samples have been sent to a national microbiology lab in Winnipeg for confirmation. Henry said protocols were followed and three of the four isolating individuals remain symptom-free.
