Cowboys Dance Hall, the long-running venue inside Cowboys Casino at 421 12 Ave. S.E., is closing after three decades, Cowboys Calgary announced on social media Monday.

The closure marks a shift in the company's focus. Rather than ending operations entirely, Cowboys is pivoting toward expanding the Cowboys Music Festival and creating new events at Cowboys Park, while deepening its partnership with the City of Calgary to bring more experiences and economic opportunities to the city.

In its announcement, Cowboys thanked the Calgary Stampede and Calgarians for the partnership. "Together, we have shared extraordinary moments — from supporting the Cowboys Rangeland Derby and Canvas Auction, to helping raise millions for the Calgary Stampede Foundation," the company said. "The Calgary Stampede is the pride and joy of this city, and Cowboys would not be where it is today without its partnership."

Cowboys emphasized that the closure is not an ending but a transition. "The boots aren't coming off; we're stepping into something bigger, bolder and built for the future," the company said. "Hold on to your hats, Calgary — the next era of the 'most fun you can have with your boots on' starts now."
