Eby criticizes Ottawa pipeline deal as reward for 'bad behaviour'
BC Premier challenges federal agreement to advance West Coast bitumen pipeline
British Columbia Premier David Eby has criticized the federal government's agreement with Alberta to advance a new bitumen pipeline to the West Coast, calling it a reward for Alberta's "bad behaviour." Prime Minister Mark Carney and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith signed an "implementation agreement" to push the project to Ottawa's major projects office by July 1. The deal commits both governments to consult BC on the proposed pipeline and could result in a national interest declaration.
