Imperia tower will reshape downtown Calgary skyline
27-storey luxury residence with distinctive mid-building break opens in 2028 near 17th Avenue with 270+ units starting at $463,900.
A striking new residential tower is coming to downtown Calgary that will stand out instantly from the moment it breaks the skyline. Called Imperia, the 27-storey development from Calgary-based Truman will occupy the corner of 11th Avenue and 4th Street SW—a prime location just a three-minute walk from 17th Avenue and close to the Core Shopping Centre and Calgary Stampede grounds.
What makes Imperia architecturally distinctive is a dramatic break running vertically through the middle of the building, housing a three-storey amenity space called The Vault. This isn't just a floor; it's a social hub featuring a barbecue space and patio, a climbing-wall gym, a bar lounge, a pet spa and dog run, and a gaming lounge with a commercial golf simulator.
The tower will contain over 270 luxury residences, with junior suites featuring one-bedroom layouts at approximately 359 square feet. Units come with nine-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, quartz countertops, and downtown views. Prices currently range from $463,900 to over $500,000.
Imperia arrives as part of a broader skyline transformation underway in downtown Calgary. A 499-foot tower is also in development, alongside an office conversion project featuring a luxury hotel. The shift signals renewed confidence in the core, with developers betting on density and high-end residential to anchor the neighbourhood's future.
The tower is slated to open in 2028, giving the downtown core another landmark addition to watch.
