Measles exposure alert issued for SE Calgary hotel

Health officials warn guests at Shawnessy Super 8 of potential virus exposure over several days in May

Alberta Health Services has issued a public alert regarding a measles exposure at the Shawnessy Super 8 Hotel in south Calgary. Someone with measles visited the hotel's public areas over multiple days between May 7 and May 10. Anyone who was present during the exposure windows—May 7 (3–11 p.m.), May 8 (1–9 p.m.), May 9 (7 a.m.–3 p.m.), and May 10 (7 a.m.–3 p.m.)—may have been exposed. Individuals born in or after 1970 without documented immunity are urged to review their vaccination status and contact health authorities if they have symptoms.
