A 30-year-old Ontario man died Friday afternoon after falling a significant distance from a cliff edge near Collingwood.

Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to Osprey Heights Road in Clearview Township, west of the area, shortly after 3 p.m. following reports of someone who had fallen from a cliff edge. Emergency crews made efforts to save his life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they're still investigating the circumstances of the fall but have found no evidence of foul play.

The OPP used the incident to remind the public about outdoor safety, particularly around cliffs, steep terrain, and uneven footing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Huronia West detachment of the OPP.
