Wednesday's warming up—live music, baseball, and spring feels

It's a warm one this morning—12 degrees and climbing. You'll actually want to be outside today, which is a gift after the stretch we've had. UV's low (2.0), so no need to load up on sunscreen, but if you're heading out for lunch or an evening walk, bring a layer you can shed. Sun's not setting until 10:02 tonight, so there's real daylight to work with.

Commute's clear—nothing blocking your way in or out. Standard Wednesday flow.

Few things worth knowing as you move through the day. There's some big money coming to the real estate scene—Autograph's breaking ground on what'll be Edmonton's priciest condos. That's one to keep an eye on if you're thinking about what the city's building next. Closer to home for some of you: if you live out Fort Sask way, RCMP's flagging a door-to-door paving scam circulating in the region. You know the drill—legitimate contractors don't usually cold-call. And if you caught wind of Khazana closing, yeah, that one stings. It's been a top-rated spot for Indian food in the city for years.

If you're thinking dinner, South Edmonton's got a new omakase spot opening that only seats ten—if you can get in, it's a different kind of night. Brio Bakery's also opened a Mill Creek location as the founders ease back, so that's another good grab if you're after fresh bread. And if grilled cheese is your weakness, this is the day to hunt down the best one in the city.

Sports-wise, the Energy City Cactus Rats are home at Myshak Metro Ballpark tonight at 6:35 against the Sylvan Lake Gulls. Low-key baseball energy on a warm Wednesday—perfect if you want to be outside and not overthinking it.

Music's everywhere tonight. The Guess Who are at Rogers Place at 7:30 if you want the big room. Wintersleep's playing The Starlite Room at 8:00 for something more intimate. And if you're into the smaller club circuit, Me The Guts, Zerchronika, and Hangxiety are at The Buckingham at 7:00. Pick your crowd size and go with it—this is what Wednesday nights are for.

Up at the Jube, U of A's running Spring Convocation all day, so if you're heading downtown, there'll be some gown-and-ceremony energy around there.

Stay warm, get outside if you can, and catch some live sound tonight. Wednesday's got it all lined up.
