Warm Thursday with rain on the way—get out while you can.

Morning. We've jumped back up to 15 today after the cooler stretch—feel that? Grab it while it lasts. UV's sitting at 6, which is high, so if you're heading outside at lunch or after work, sunscreen's not optional. Sun's not setting until 10:07 tonight, so you've got a proper summer evening ahead of you. There's a Special Weather Statement up, though—rain's coming, and it's not just a sprinkle. Keep an eye on the forecast as the day goes; we're looking at rising flood risk depending on how hard it hits.

The wet's already caused headaches around the city. Mosquitoes have gone absolutely wild after the heavy rain we've had, so if you're planning to be in the river valley or anywhere near green space this evening, bring the bug spray. Not optional either.

On the commute side, PlayWright at the Citadel has closed—the city construction around there finally did it. If that was part of your regular rotation, time to find a new spot.

Couple things worth knowing: there's a $400-million carbon capture project that's now at risk because the carbon price has dropped, which matters if you work in that sector or follow the business side of things. And if you've been following the 2002 disappearance case that's sat cold for more than two decades, police made an arrest this morning—real news for the people who've been waiting.

If you're thinking dinner, Marugame Udon is heading into the Mall eventually, which is solid news for noodle runs. And if you're in the mood for something different, there's a Glizzy spot by the legislature now.

Tonight's got some real options. There's a cannabis festival out at Fan Park in the Ice District at 3:00 if that's your thing. For the evening, jazz is live all over the city—pick your vibe. Jean-Michel Pilc Trio's playing at Yardbird Suite at 7:00, Isaiah Collier's doing a Coltrane tribute set at JazzClub at the Chateau Lacombe at 7:30, or if you want something lighter, Drew Dunn's at Rick Bronson's at 7:30. The Starlite Room's got a Beach Bash starting at 6:00 if you want to ease into the night. No weather excuse to stay home—rain doesn't hit until later, and you've got plenty of daylight left.

Get out there. Make it count.
