Wednesday warmth, detours downtown, and live music tonight.
Seventeen degrees and golden light—perfect for getting out. Just watch the bus routes heading downtown.
Morning's mild at 17 and the UV's climbing to 6, which is proper summer territory. Wear the sunscreen if you're out most of the day. You're looking at nearly 17 hours of daylight—sunset doesn't roll around until just after ten tonight, so there's time to do actual things after work.
Heading downtown on the LRT or the bus this morning? Routes 523 and 511 have detours in play around 101 Street and Jasper Avenue. Nothing dramatic, but it'll add a few minutes if you're timing it tight. Same detours going both directions, so plan a little extra buffer if you're catching them.
There's a few things worth knowing around town. The City just okayed a new mixed-use tower at Pacific Mall—that's another piece of the downtown jigsaw coming together. Closer to home, if you're on the west side, Valleyview IGA is back after two years, which means the neighborhood's getting its grocery back. And if you've been craving gelato, Shooby's opened a proper brick-and-mortar spot on 101st Street with hand-made batches.
For tonight, you've got options depending on what you're after. The Riverhawks are playing Nanaimo at RE/MAX Field at 7:05—baseball weather looks ideal. If live music is your move, Angine de Poitrine's playing the ICE District Parkade and Fan Park both at 7, and Koe Wetzel's at Rogers Place at 7:30 if you want country with some teeth. There's also The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee over at the Citadel if Broadway's calling. At 18 degrees tonight, being outside feels right—bring a light layer if you're hanging around after dark, but you won't need much.
Stay sorted.
