Tuesday heat, late sunsets, and a couple of solid live shows tonight

Morning. It's a warm one out there—14 degrees and the UV's sitting at 7, which means real sun. Sunscreen isn't optional today if you're spending time outside. You've got nearly 17 hours of daylight to work with, and sunset doesn't land until almost 10 PM, so the evening's wide open if you want to do something.

Head's up on getting around: there are a few LRT stops down on the north end this morning. Stops #1147, #1321, and #1804 on 100 Street are all closed—that's Northbound at Churchill and Westbound at 100. If you're heading that way, plan for a detour or give yourself extra time.

There's some real stuff happening in the city worth knowing about. A sinkhole opened up in north Edmonton over the weekend after those heavy thunderstorms came through—keep an eye out if you're in that area. On a lighter note, Sadé McCreath just set a new Canadian women's 100-metre record right here in E-town at an Edmonton meet. That's the kind of moment worth flagging.

If you're thinking about dinner, there's plenty happening on the food scene. Edmonton's newest rooftop patio is up at the historic Crawford Building if you want views with your meal, and if you've got a donair craving, there's a local food blogger diving deep into the donair spots around the city right now. Worth a follow if that's your thing.

Tonight's got two solid options if you're up for getting out. The Bouncing Souls are rolling through Midway Music Hall at 6 PM with The Suicide Machines opening—that's classic punk energy if you're in the mood. If theatre's more your speed, Clue is touring and hitting the Jubilee at 7:30. Both kick off at a reasonable hour, so either one's doable on a Tuesday.

Weather-wise, we're looking at a warmer, wetter fall than usual coming up, so hold onto that—it'll shape the next few months. Make the most of the daylight while it's this good.

Stay sorted.
