Tuesday's hazy but warm—air quality's the watch today

Good air day to stay indoors? Not quite. Commute's clear, but keep the windows in mind.

Tuesday's hazy but warm—air quality's the watch today

Morning, E-town. It's a warm one out there—16 degrees and the sun's sticking around until nearly 10 tonight, so you've got serious daylight to work with. But here's the thing: air quality's running elevated at 10.0 on the AQHI scale, which means if you're heading out for a long walk or planning outdoor plans, you might want to take it easy or grab a mask. It's not a full shutdown, but it's a heads-up day.

Commute-wise, you're good to go. No major disruptions on your usual routes into the office or across town.

On the local front, there's some real news worth knowing. Gregg Distributors just sold to Brookfield for $1.6 billion—that's the kind of deal that moves the needle in this city's business world. On a heavier note, it's been twenty years since nurse Nadine Robinson died in Clareview, and the case remains unsolved; her family and the community are still looking for answers. And if you've got a creek or pond nearby, watch for invasive goldfish—Alberta's waterways are flooded with them right now, and the province is handing out warnings and fines to try to get a handle on it.

Food-wise, Kit + Ace just opened at the Mall after closing their Whyte Avenue spot, so if you've been missing them, that's your move. Downtown's taken some hits lately—Greta and Bündok both shut down recently, which stings a bit. On the lighter side, Starbucks is bringing back the Unicorn Frappuccino for one weekend only if you're into that kind of thing.

Tonight's got energy if you're looking to get out. The Saskatoon Berries are playing the Energy City Cactus Rats at Myshak Metro Ballpark at 6:35 PM—summer baseball is solid on a warm evening like this. If that's not your speed, Connor Price is at the EXPO Centre at 7:30 PM. KDays is running too if you want festival vibes. You've got time to decide—sunset's not until 9:48 PM, so the evening's yours to stretch out.

Stay hydrated out there with the heat and the air quality. See you around.
