Sunday winds pick up—head indoors, catch a show.

Morning, E-town. It's a breezy Sunday—13 degrees and the UV's light, but there's a wind warning in effect, so plan your outdoor time early and be ready to move plans indoors by evening. You've got a solid 15.5 hours of daylight, and sunset's at 9:29, so there's plenty of time to get out if you want it.

If you're flying out today on WestJet, heads up: the airline and its flight attendants' union haven't come to terms, and there's a strike on. Check your booking before you head to the airport.

On the food front, there's some good energy happening. Bazaar just landed Ukrainian street food at Station Park in Old Strathcona—if you've been craving proper perogies or something off the beaten path, it's worth the trip before the wind really kicks in. Over on Whyte, Greg Sweeney's HOM Street Food has taken over the kitchen at Bibo's, so if you haven't caught that spot yet, today's a good day. And if you want to mark a milestone, Coliseum Steak & Pizza over in Parkdale is hitting 50 years in the neighbourhood—there's some real history there.

If you're looking for something to do, the Fort McMurray Giants are playing the Energy City Cactus Rats at Myshak Metro Ballpark at 1:35 PM—good daytime baseball before the wind gets worse. The Citadel's also got The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee running at 1:30 PM if you want to stay indoors from the start.

Tonite, once the wind picks up, you'll want to be somewhere warm. Buck Pop's playing The Buckingham at 8:00 PM if you're in the mood for live music—it's a solid indoor plan. There's also metal and comedy around the city if that's your speed, but yeah, the weather's pushing you inside by evening.

One more thing worth knowing: Dutch elm disease has shown up in 14 Edmonton trees now, with half of those cases hitting in just the last two weeks. It's something to keep an eye on if you've got elms on your property or around the neighbourhood.

Get out early if the weather's calling you, but don't fight the wind tonight. See you around.
