Tuesday's mild, the sun sticks around — and there's junior hockey at Rogers Place.

Morning — it's a solid Tuesday in E-town. Twelve degrees and mostly clear out there, so you're not bundling up, but that UV's sitting at 6 (high), which means if you're heading outside for lunch or a walk, sunscreen's not optional. You've got a full fifteen and a half hours of daylight today, so sunset doesn't roll until 9:25 PM — plenty of evening left after work.

Commute's clean today — nothing major backing things up on the Henday or Yellowhead that we're tracking, so you should be alright getting across town.

Worth knowing this morning: Fort Sask's got a local hero on the way up. Joshua Kutryk — born and raised out there — is launching to the space station September 12 for a six-month mission. Not every day someone from around here makes that trip, so that's worth keeping an eye on. Also, if you've been waiting for WestJet to get back to normal, the cabin crew strike's done as of a tentative deal, so flights are moving again.

If you're thinking lunch, there's some solid new stuff on the radar. Greg Sweeney's HOM Street Food just took over Bibo's kitchen on Whyte, so if you want to check that out, today's a good day. Over in Old Strathcona at Station Park, Bazaar's bringing Ukrainian street food to the neighbourhood — perogies, proper stuff. And if you're feeling nostalgic, Coliseum Steak & Pizza down in Parkdale is marking fifty years in Edmonton, which doesn't happen every day.

Tonight, there's junior hockey at Rogers Place — Germany takes on Czechia at 1:00 PM in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. It's indoor, so weather's not a factor, and it's the kind of game that's good background if you're working from home or looking for something to have on while you grab an early dinner.

Sunset at 9:25 PM means you've got a long evening if you want it — good for a walk through the river valley if the mood strikes, or just sitting outside without freezing.

Stay sharp out there.
