Sunday's got that sweet 17—get outside while it lasts.

Morning. It's 17 and climbing, UV's running high at 6.0, so sunscreen's doing actual work today. You've got a solid 14-plus hours of daylight and won't lose the sun until 8:45 tonight—plenty of time to get out of the house if the mood strikes.

If you're heading west on the Yellowhead near 182 Street, Routes 925 and 915 have got planned detours running today, so add a few minutes if you're crossing that zone. Nothing dramatic, but worth knowing before you head out.

On the bigger picture: Jordan Walker's making a play for that Sherwood Park seat after taking a loss to the NDP's Kasawski back in 2023. Also worth your attention—charges got dropped in that RCMP breach-of-trust case after key evidence shifted. And if you've got Indigenous community ties, there's been some noise about pipeline plans advancing on the west coast while some groups say they weren't kept in the loop.

For eating, if you're feeling it: Lingnan's been anchoring Edmonton family dinners for over 70 years with their egg rolls—still the move if you want something that's earned its reputation. There's also Bazaar over at Station Park in Old Strathcona doing Ukrainian street food now, which tracks if you're after something with a little more character. Tim Hortons dropped a Harry Potter menu earlier this month too, if that's calling your name. And if you're in the mood for something classic, the Commodore's been holding it down since 1942 and still going strong—that's real staying power.

For daytime plans, the CPKC Women's Open's wrapping up its final round at Royal Mayfair this morning, with spectating starting at 8:00 AM if golf's your thing. Otherwise, it's a Sunday—walk the river valley, hit a patio, catch up with someone you've been meaning to see. The weather's actually cooperating.

Tonight's quiet on the live events front, but that's not a bad thing for a Sunday. Streaming's got you if you need it, or just lean into the evening. It'll stay decent until sunset.

Get out there. See you around.
