Morning — it's dropped to 6 this morning and staying there through the day, so layer up if you're heading out. Feels like fall's actually landed. There's also been some frustration brewing on the southside — an electrical supplier's been hit three times in recent weeks. Owner's understandably upset about releases. Not the kind of repeat news you want to hear.
If you're thinking food today, keep your eye on this week: Hell's Kitchen — Gordon Ramsay's place — officially opens tomorrow in Enoch, so that's coming. Closer to right now, Sip Soda Co. just opened on Whyte Avenue and they're giving free drinks to early arrivals, which is a solid Sunday move. Andy's Valleyview IGA is also back in Parkview after two years, if that's your neighbourhood spot. And mark September 23rd — Dumpling Fest is bringing world cuisines across the city's restaurants that day.
This evening's got three live options for you. If you want the festival vibe, Purple City Music Festival's running the day pass through the afternoon and into evening at multiple venues downtown — that's the energy play. If you want something more orchestral and sit-down, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl plays in concert at the Jube at 3:00 PM — full live orchestra, which is worth the trip if you're into that. And if you're leaning hip-hop and late night, Pulso Canada Tour's at River Cree Resort & Casino at 7:00 PM with Kean Cipriano and the crew.
Weather-wise, it's cool enough that you'll want a jacket all day, but there's no rain on the radar and you've got good daylight. Perfect for being out and actually enjoying it instead of fighting the weather.
