Rhubarb Cafe & Cocktails in Edmonton's Manchester Square has permanently closed. The cafe announced the closure Friday morning via Instagram, describing it as a "hard decision" after five years of operation.
Opened in 2022, Rhubarb had become known for creative drink and dessert flights featuring seasonal selections like pie flights, pastry-inspired cocktails, and espresso martini flights. The cafe hosted community events regularly and cultivated an inviting atmosphere.
"We are so incredibly thankful for all the amazing customers who have become friends, memories that have been shared and MANY coffees poured," the cafe said in its closing announcement.
Manchester Square, the Dutch architecture-inspired shopping centre where Rhubarb operated, has seen several food and drink rotations in recent years. Ashford House, an Irish pub, closed in February 2025 after two years. New openings include Mayte, which launched in February 2025, and Juana Inés, which began serving traditional Mexican food in May 2025.
