The Edmonton Folk Music Festival lineup is out, and the 48th edition is shaping up to be another heavyweight four days in Gallagher Park come August.

Sixty artists will perform over August 6-9. The headliners announced Thursday include Nathaniel Rateliff, Corb Lund, Of Monsters and Men, Cat Power, Arrested Development, and Thee Sacred Souls. Returning favorites like The Milk Carton Kids, Courtney Marie Andrews, Ocie Elliott, and Jeremie Albino anchor the bill. Festival newcomers include Dove Ellis, SYML, Buyepongo, Ásgeir, and The Womack Sisters.

The festival is making a small sustainability move: meals sold at the fest will be served on plastic plates that can be returned for a deposit. This year, the deposit drops from $2 to $1 per plate.

Tickets go on sale online only starting June 6 at 10 a.m. A full four-day adult pass is $244. Single-day tickets are $109 for Thursday or Friday and $115 for Saturday and Sunday. There are discounted rates for seniors aged 65 to 79, young adults aged 18 to 24, and teens aged 12 to 17. Kids under 11 and seniors over 80 get in free.

The main stage kicks off Thursday at 6:30 p.m. with The Womack Sisters, Corb Lund, and Thee Sacred Souls. Friday night sees Of Monsters and Men take the stage (schedule subject to change). Saturday afternoon opens with Dailey & Vincent at 2 p.m., followed by evening performances from Annie & The Caldwells, Leif Vollebekk, Cat Power, and Arrested Development. Sunday wraps with Bombino at 2 p.m. and the finale at 6:50 p.m.—St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Ocie Elliott, and Nathaniel Rateliff.

If you've been waiting for a reason to dust off the tarps and head to the park, this is it.
