The Edmonton Pops Orchestra is bringing a Broadway smash to Hawrelak Park for the first time, transforming the newly renovated space into an outdoor theatre venue.
Something Rotten! is an outrageous musical comedy that asks: what if Shakespeare had competition? The production follows two brothers in Renaissance England as they struggle to write a hit play in the shadow of a certain rock-star playwright. Expect showstopping numbers, theatrical jokes, and clever references that will have audiences laughing throughout.
"You won't find any other event like this in the city," the Pops Orchestra said in their announcement. The production features a full cast, dazzling choreography, and the backdrop of the river valley, which organizers say makes every moment feel like magic.
