The Leduc Black Gold Pro Rodeo is back for four days of buckles, barbecue, and pure rodeo energy, May 28–31. It's a local institution—first held in 1969—and it brings the whole region together every spring.

The schedule is packed. Thursday kicks off with a free Slack Performance at 8 a.m., followed by the midway from 3 to 10 p.m. The actual Pro Rodeo performances run at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, then 1:30 p.m. Sunday, with rotating competitors in each seven-event lineup.

Beyond the main ring, there's a massive Trade Fair (Friday through Sunday) with 131 booths, food vendors, live entertainment, and beer gardens spread across the LRC field house. Friday adds a Family Fun Fair, Lions Barbecue, and the free all-ages Dance in the Dirt at 10 p.m. in the arena.

Saturday is the anchor day: the Lions Pancake Breakfast (8–10 a.m.), the Black Gold Days Parade at 10 a.m. down 50th Street, a Classic Car Show (noon–4 p.m.), and the adults-only Rodeo Cabaret (8:30 p.m.–2 a.m.) in the curling rink. The Leduc Art Club also hosts the 15th annual Aspiring Young Artists Competition (10 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Sunday).

Sunday wraps with the Scouts Pancake Breakfast (9–11 a.m.) and Cowboy Church (10:15 a.m.). If you want to build anticipation, there's a Rodeo Kick Off to Summer on May 22 (4–7 p.m.) downtown with free activities and a community barbecue.
