Edmonton police have issued an arrest warrant for Gene Jacobs, 61, following two random, unprovoked assaults at an Old Strathcona McDonald's on May 11.

According to a police release Thursday, two adult males were dining in the restaurant near 103 Street and 80 Avenue around 2:20 p.m. when another male patron assaulted each of them without provocation before leaving on foot. The assault wasn't reported until the following day, but officers obtained video footage from the scene. Police do not believe the complainants and suspect knew one another.

Jacobs is charged with two counts of assault and breaching probation. Police continue to seek his whereabouts and are asking anyone who witnessed the attacks to come forward. Investigators are also trying to locate the two men who were assaulted.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
