Saffron Centre, a sexual assault support organization in Strathcona County, is hosting its second annual Igniting Hope Gala on Thursday, September 10 at The Agora in Sherwood Park.
The semi-formal to formal fundraiser will feature psychologist, author, and speaker Dr. Jody Carrington as keynote. Carrington is known for her work on relationships, connection, and emotional well-being. "She speaks a lot about authentic relationships and building strength, connection, and healing through those relationships," said Roxane Tiessen, CEO and executive director of Saffron Centre. "Her message aligns closely with Saffron Centre's understanding of trauma recovery and the importance of supportive relationships."
Dinner will be catered by award-winning chef Paul Shufelt, with live music throughout the meal from the Valkyrie String Quartet, performing pop and contemporary music. Live painter Giselle Denis will create artwork during the event. A live auction and expanded silent auction will feature items and experiences.
Proceeds support Saffron Centre's planned relocation to a new facility. With an overall fundraising goal of $1.7 million for the move, the Centre is halfway to its target. Organizers hope the gala will raise $150,000 toward that goal.
Individual tickets are $240 and tables of eight are $1,728. Tickets are selling quickly; visit saffroncentre.com/igniting-hope-gala for more information.
