Spruce Grove's collegiate summer baseball team will not play at the Energy City Metro Ballpark for the remainder of the 2026 season, the team announced Sunday, August 2.
The decision comes after the team reviewed remaining construction requirements and heard concerns from the Western Canadian baseball league about the park's fan occupancy capacity and lack of operational lighting required to host potential playoff games.
Ticketholders will receive credit toward 2027 Cactus Rats games. The team said management will share details of any remaining games once they have been confirmed.
