Services restored in Glengarry, Killarney, Balwin and Delwood after gas was shut off to support emergency crews battling blaze that killed one, injured seven.

ATCO Gas has fully restored service to four northeast Edmonton neighbourhoods after shutting off gas to support emergency crews responding to a fatal apartment fire on Monday.

All relights have been completed in Glengarry, Killarney, Balwin, and Delwood as of Thursday afternoon. Approximately 1,700 customers were without service, while critical facilities had temporary gas services in place during the emergency response.

The fire killed one person and injured seven, with two initially unaccounted for. It is believed a vehicle struck a gas line, causing the blaze.

ATCO said if residents still require assistance, they can call 310-5678 or text 28261.
